Top 3 Fishing Spots In The World (So far!)

I have three favorite places to fish in the world so far. They are Tobacco Caye, Belize, Wolfe Island, Ontario, Canada and in the Discovery Islands of British Columbia, Canada.

Wolfe Island, Ontario

On Wolfe Island it is really windy most of the time so that makes it a little wavy. But that does not stop the fish from biting. My grandparents live on Wolfe Island and they own sixty acres of land. My grandpa made me, and my brothers and sister, a rowboat. I have gone fishing in it since he built it. Before that I would go in a canoe. Their house is built on Big Bay on the south side of the island. I have caught large and small mouth bass, pike, garr fish, bullheads, perch and lots more. My brothers caught a carp by sneaking up on it and netting it.  When we get a fish we almost always gut it and eat it. I have gotten really good at doing that.

Discovery Islands, BC

My Uncle Josh lives in B.C. and he crabs and fishes all the time. He has an out rigger that he built by himself and he is currently working on building a sail boat. We have only been there once before and it was a trip! My uncle lives in a one-room house that he built himself and he made my grandparents, who live on Wolfe Island, a little hut that they could look out over the channel from and so my Grammy could sleep inside instead of in a tent.

My uncle picked us up at a dock in his outrigger, it was a long way from his house. We set up our tents and got settled in. Then the rain came down.We had no sun for the week that we were there, just rain. But we still fished.

All we caught were ling cod and rockies.  They tasted really good. One time we split up and Grandpa, Hannah and Elisha went into a rowboat and fished while the rest of the boys went on the outrigger. We got two fish in the outrigger and we thought we were doing good but when we got home Hannah Grandpa and Elisha were sitting there with seven fish! One of the fish they had caught had been eating the other fish they had actually caught. We had some good fish that night.

Tobacco Caye, Belize

And last but not least, Tobacco Caye, Belize.  It is an island that you can walk from one end to another in less than ten minutes.  It has beautiful reefs and a huge moray eel lives in a little cove there. There are so many fish there that I can’t even count how many! But we took a fishing tour and caught groupers, red and yellow snappers, and a lot more!! My sister went swimming in the night with some of her friends and saw octopus and lots of other things. The ocean is warmish there and very clear. People fish with hand lines instead of poles most of the time. We saw some big barracuda come off of the local boats too.

There is great fishing almost anywhere you go but these are my favorite places of them all.
